She a falling star fell from your heart. The days were getting shorter and colder as the seasons were slowly transitioning. It had been a while since she had ventured down to the city. The shrine just felt so safe to her these days, but she could feel herself getting restless with each passing day. Her body ached to be where the humans were. Don't get her wrong. She loved helping travelers, but being cooped up in a shrine all the time caused a lot of wear and tear. This is how she wound up disguising herself as a human, wandering towards the village cautiously. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous to be in the presence of humans. It's not like it was anything new.
Maybe it was the fear she had of getting caught. There was no one in this village that remembered her anymore. They were all long gone, and now she was dealing with distant relatives that didn't know anything about all the trouble she went to to defend this village from evil spirits. A sigh pushed past pink lips as she wandered into the bar. It was so different from the last time she had been here. Music played out of speakers, almost instantly giving her a headache. The urge to cover her ears came about her, but she didn't want to look so out of place. Thin legs carried the young woman up to the bar, hopping up onto a stool with grace. What did people even order in bars in this day and age?
Light blue eyes looked around for a piece of paper that had any sort of insight towards what to buy. The bartender's eyes blazed into her, causing her heart to beat at an alarming rate, though she held a tender smile. His gaze seem to ask her, "What are you doing here?" It didn't help that she had already felt so out of place in this bar. What was she supposed to do when this village had transformed into something completely different than what it once was? Not like she could explain that, though. Spirits were a thing of the past. They were believed to be myths. Folklore. The young woman couldn't help but sigh. Maybe it was a bad idea to come here. No, it definitely was.
The pink-haired woman stayed where she was, though. Her blue gaze went to a young man just down the bar, a finger gently pointing at him. "I'll have whatever he's having." The bartender had a look of shock on his face, but Kuu had no idea why. That was, until she took a sip of the drink that the bartender had slid in her direction. So bitter. The liquid burned like fire on her tongue and all the way down her throat, warming her insides as if there was an open fire deep within her. A hand went to her mouth as she attempted to cover up a cough, but it forced itself out anyways. Sheepishly, the young woman looked up from her drink, smiling ever so gently. "That really...uh...hit the spot." She lied; a sheepish smile upon her lips. She easily could have gone through the rest of her long life without having tasted something so bitter and vile.544 WORDS FOR OPEN ― first thread yay.

It wasn't every day that Minoru went to a bar. Indeed, normally he very much preferred to not go to a bar. It wasn't that Minoru couldn't hold his alcohol, unlike his father he could hold it quite well, he simply wasn't a big fan of the taste of booze. One could say that it was out of nostalgia, when Minoru still went by his old name he occasionally went to bars with his friends. It was more of a social thing than anything else, though Minoru questioned why he had chosen to come here now.
It didn't matter now anyway, he was here and he would spend some time here. If for no other reason, it was simply to kill some free time that he had. Minoru walked in to the bar. He didn't get any looks from people, something that came as a sort of a relief to him. It seemed that since Minoru had changed his hairstyle people weren't recognizing him, that was good. He didn't want to attract any unwanted attention to himself and it was going well so far.
Minoru walked up to the bar, sitting next to a woman already sitting at the bar. When the bartender asked what he wanted his answer was simple, just some ginger ale. Ginger ale wasn't Minoru's favorite drink, but he chose it because it looked like gin. At least those who didn't hear what he had ordered would think that he was drinking booze. He drank it, going back into thought about what he wanted to do next. He had a home, a job, now he was pondering whether he should get an education. Of course, that was easier said than done. Minoru, being a goryo, couldn't exactly call up his high-school credentials when applying to a college.
Then Minoru was yanked out of his thoughts when he heard the woman sitting next to him coughing. Though she tried to hide it, Minoru could tell that she didn't enjoy the drink. He pondered for a moment if he should talk to her. Did he really want to? He didn't want to risk his true nature being found out. Then again, it wasn't like that would come out in a simple conversation now was it. This was also a bar, a social place. To Minoru, the decision took a while, even though it only took about a second.
"Not a fan of booze?" he asked. He was at a bar, he figured that he should at least try to make some small talk.

She a falling star fell from your heart. As the woman was choking she caught the words from a man. Once she had calmed down, she looked over at the young man. Then a scent hit her nose. A scent that didn't smell like human. Could it be that she was catching her own scent? No way. Kuu knew her scent, and this wasn't it. This was when she realized her eyes had been watching this new character intensely, but no words had slipped past her pink lips. A sheepish smile blossomed as she quickly looked away, her cheeks growing hot and pink. The last thing she wanted was to make small talk over something that completely embarrassed her. Not like embarrassing her was even a difficult task."Oh, no. It's not that. It's just really...strong." The pink haired girl guessed that was a good word for it. Rarely ever did she drink before this, so it was kind of frightening how much it burned her whole body. Although, it was safe to say she didn't like the taste, either. Alcohol wasn't supposed to taste good, though, so she never bothered to even complain about the taste. It had one purpose, and that purpose was to intoxicate people. Why had she even decided to go with something alcoholic? The last thing she needed was to be intoxicated. The young woman chewed anxiously on her lower lip as she thought about not even finishing the alcoholic beverage she had been handed. Wouldn't that be rude, though?
Blue gaze moved to the black haired young man who was seated right beside her. A finger pointed towards his drink. "What are you drinking?" The young woman took a whiff. It didn't reek of alcohol. "Because if it's not alcoholic, I think I'll want one." Maybe this choice of beverages would be a much safer approach. For someone of her size and stature, drinking something this strong would not be a good idea. The young woman almost felt guilty for letting such a thing pass her lips. Kuu had become the equivalent of a shrine maiden, although many people blessed her shrine with offerings as if she were some mighty spirit. It just didn't feel right. What would the Gods think of her?--- WORDS | FOR OPEN ― first thread yay.

Minoru noticed how this person had been looking at him for a while, just looking and nothing else. For a moment Minoru wondered why this was so. Had she recognized his face? Minoru probably wasn't famous or anything like that, but he knew that he was in the background of at least one or two news articles when his father was running one of his campaigns for mayor. His face was probably also in the news articles about the yakuza's attack on his family's home. Minoru had changed his hairstyle to one with long hair that could cover the right side of his face in an attempt to make sure noone recognized him, but who was to say that would work 100% of the time?
Minoru forced his mind off of that train of thought. Even if this person did recognize him, Minoru could easily brush it off as a mere coincidence. No need to think things like that, unless he wanted to become a paranoid wreck that is.
When this woman finally did speak Minoru could understand where she was coming from. He regretted the first time his college friends had talked him into drinking vodka, from that day Minoru had decided that he wouldn't let a drop of anything that strong even touch his lips. It was for this reason that when the woman asked what Minoru was drinking Minoru answered without hesitation.
"Ginger ale," he said "if you'd like, I could buy you one." Normally Minoru wouldn't make small talk with someone, but there was something about this person. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something set her apart from the rest of the group. Then there was also the matter of just being police, Minoru was the one who started the converstation with his comment after all.

She& a falling star fell from your heart. The young woman looked down at the vile drink she had left on the bar counter. She wondered if maybe anyone else would want to be bothered with it. Although, handing off drinks to complete strangers probably came off as weird. At least she would find it weird. Men were a whole different species of human in her eyes. They were more carefree. A little too carefree at times. It must have been a man thing. A nimble finger went around the edge of the glass multiple times. After almost burning a hole through the glass, blue orbs looked away, her hand leaving the glass once more. A sigh left her lips as her gaze wandered over to the young man once more. There was something off about him.As the young man offered to buy her ginger ale, she almost immediately shook her head. Even though she was low on money, there was no way she could allow a stranger to pay for her drink. "Thank you for offering, but there's no way I could accept." A warm smile blossomed across her pink lips. Blue orbs quickly searched for the bartender, and she smiled ever so brightly when she caught sight of him. "I think I'll actually take what he's having." The young woman cooed with a gentle smile. The bartender seemed entertained, she Kuu could understand why. A petite and proper looking woman such as herself in a bar with a bunch of men was probably something he didn't see everyday. The large man was quick to return with her drink, which she was grateful for. Now she could enjoy a drink that didn't burn her insides. After taking a few sips her attention once again was brought back to the young man sitting beside her. Kuu couldn't understand what was so interesting about him. "So uh. What brings you here tonight?" Small talk never hurt anyone. Besides, she found it weird that someone would come to a bar without the intention to drink. They both probably came off as pretty lame. --- WORDS | FOR OPEN ― c:

The question that this woman asked Minoru got his brain working. What exactly was he here? He did have a reason, nostalgia, but if that was the case than why had he chosen to come now? This was something that he couldn't really come up with an answer for at the moment, so he simply gave what he had thought of.
"I guess I came here to kill time." replied Minoru "besides, I haven't been to a bar since...." He stopped himself in his tracks. He didn't need to go that far, was he a complete idiot? It was a terrible idea to reveal that piece of information. Of course, now that he had mentioned it he needed to change the subject from it somehow. It was at times like this that Minoru wished that he had gotten more used to talking with his friends in college. Those communication skills would have been very useful about now.
"What are you doing here? asked Minoru, it was the first thing he thought of that he could use to divert the subject away from his slip of tounge. Hopefully this woman wouldn't start poking into things, otherwise Minoru might be in some trouble, especially if he didn't want to reveal his identity. Inside his head Minoru crossed his fingers, hoping for the best of luck.
